Psychological trauma is a major public health issue affecting the health of people, families and communities across Canada. Given the enormous influence that trauma has on health outcomes, it is important that every health care provider has a basic understanding of trauma, can recognize the symptoms of trauma, and appreciates  the role they play in supporting recovery.

Service providers do not need to be specialists in the treatment of trauma to work in a Trauma Informed way. However, they do need to know enough to be able to recognize possible trauma responses and to adapt their practices accordingly. This interactive webinar will lead participants in a conversation about the principles of being trauma-informed and how to integrate this perspective into our everyday interactions
